Description says Altec woofers, but the pics do not show Altec woofers. Wonder if you get what's in the description, or what's in the pic?

Makes sense to me that you get what's in the pics. Those are Altec 421 woofers in there. At least that's what they look like to me.
Ribbed cones, 4 inch voice coils/dust caps......................... not any version of a 421 that i'm aware of.
421 has a nice smooth cone from the edge of it's 3 inch dust cap out to the surround, in the pic you can see that only a small area outside of the dust cap is smooth.
If you told me they looked like JBL E-140's or K-140's, i'd be a believer.

Oh, I didn't see any ribbed cones or anything. If that's what the cones look like then yes, JBL. I have several pairs of 421 woofers and that's what the pic looked like to me. What the heck is an 808-8A? Is there (or I wish there was) a simple chart showing the different motors, and then the different diaphragms that when mated to them make up the various designations that was easy to read.

Funny how one letter makes a huge difference. 808 8("b") can be converted to an 802 8g with a correct diaphragm change. The 808 8("a") can not. Different motor/magnet size.
